School Closures

In the event of bad weather, the school will text all parents if the school is to close.  We will notify all parents of children booked into Breakfast Club that day, first. 

Central Bedfordshire Council have an SOS system which will automatically update the opening status of schools.  Parents can sign up to receive an immediate email alert to let them know of their school closure.  The Council website listing the school closures will also be updated and local radio stations will receive email alerts.  If you would like to sign up to this free service please register at:

John Donne Church of England School is a friendly, caring school situated in the village of Blunham, with a history going back over 200 years. It provides an exciting broad and balanced education for local children and those from the surrounding villages and towns, aged 3 – 9 years. We offer a safe and happy learning environment in which we all work together with mutual respect and a love of learning.
